Help develop a toolkit for clothes repair

Join us and the RCA to evaluate the effectiveness of a repair toolkit. At the session, you will interact with a deck of cards that reveal the core features of a clothing repair process and break it down into a series of steps. To participate you will bring a damaged garment to the workshop, which will be assessed by working with the repair toolkit. The workshop is also an opportunity for you to reflect on damaged garments, discuss the stages of repair and imagine ways that the toolkit could be adopted in your own practice.

This is event is in partnership with the RCA (Royal College of Art) is part of this research project The Consumer Experience Digital Tools for Dematerialisation for the Circular Economy research project which aims to develop a suite of digital tools that empower consumers to extend the life of garments. This will help the UK apparel-textiles sector to achieve ‘zero avoidable waste’ as part of a Circular Economy. The project supports experiences and services for clothes related to care, repair and upgrade, which encourages people to take on the role of ‘custodian’.
